What Is Meant By The Word “Character”
Character defined: Your character is the core of who you are especially when no one is watching. It refers to the moral and ethical principles held by an individual. It is important for potential employers to understand and familiarise themselves with a potential candidates Character, to ensure that the candidate’s character is in align with the company culture, mission and vision. Employers are able to gain valuable insight into someone’s character by observing their personal patterns on social media, this is done by becoming aware of the persons online interactions.

Social media interaction involves the communication and engagement with businesses, brands and other individuals online. It refers to any sort of interaction with others online, this can include likes, comments, tags, reposts, replies and mentions.
By gaining insight into your engagement patterns, employers are able to get a sneak peak into what they could expect when hiring you. For example, someone who uses foul language, and acts aggressively over social media when engaging with others, might not be a good fit in an extremely calm working environment. Potential employers want to see if you are considerate, caring and helpful towards others.
Your Feed:
Potential Employers will examine your posts and feed to see if it you could align with the company, does your feed show compatibility to who the company wants as a representative, or does your feed represent the complete opposite of what the company stands for, would the company be proud to say that you are a member of their organisation?
The potential employer may also use your social media feed to see if your post aligns with the information on your resume. They may also examine your feed to determine what time you engage on social media, to see if you use and abuse work time hours- Are you posting and interactive on social media during work hours? If so, this may raise a red flag.
