BDM & Exports Sales Exec (Mining)(Capital Equipment)

Directors & National Sales Manager
Responsibilities and Duties
Sell all conveyor equipment that is offered by Client’s & their principles.
Experience in the mining, energy sector essential ***
Market the Client’s capital equipment offering through digital and conventional means including website, cold-calling, email drops, exhibitions etc.
Establish new potential clients and markets in: Specifically, West Africa, Sub-Saharan & Australia
Keep frequent contact with new potential clients.
Report frequently on sales activity
Glean competitor activity and report regularly
Liaise with Client’s internal sales and marketing departments (Communication is key)
Update Client’s technical staff on new potential projects, quotes, upgrades etc.
Attend trade exhibitions
Initiate and execute other social media marketing and sales strategies.
Qualifications (Not essential, but a nice to have)
Recognised post-matric technical qualification. Preferably Engineering
At least 5-10 years’ experience in Capital Equipment Sales to the mining sector, or associated industries, specifically with respect to bulk material handling/Or similar.
At least 2-5 years proven experience in selling the above listed at an international level, involving countries in Africa, Australia etc.
Preferably some experience in selling capital equipment in neighboring Southern African states
Understanding layouts and designs; can read and understand layout drawings. You don’t have to be a technical whiz, but you need to know how to open the door to potential sales.
Ability to understand & impart technical and commercial requirements of customers’ RFQs (Request for quotations) (You will be supported the entire way by a top-notch technical team, your job is to be the sales catalyst to closing the sale.
Be of good health, sober and drug-free to enter client’s premises
Have a valid, unendorsed driver’s license and passport & be prepared to travel 1 week out of the month to ‘hunt’ for new business.
Conditions
Based in Johannesburg (Northern Suburbs)
3 months’ probation
Performance-based remuneration (R35,000 – 55,000 based on experience)
The sales cycle is long, but if you do a superb job commission will double/treble your base CTC.
Be flexible to work odd/extended hours when required
Be able to travel domestically and internationally when required.
